A sales claim that a replica matches the genuine watch exactly. No replica does: the reptime.help glossary says that all replicas have tells.

2xARCrystal
A sapphire crystal with two layers of anti-reflective coating.

324 cloneMovement
A clone of the Patek Philippe 324 calibre for the Nautilus and the Aquanaut. The guide calls most "330" versions "cosmetic only, really just the 324".
3KF3K FactoryFactory
A Patek Philippe specialist with a 324 clone. First for the Calatrava 5227 and the ladies Nautilus, third for the Nautilus 5711 in the May 2026 guide.

4130 cloneMovement
A clone of the Rolex 4130 chronograph calibre for the Daytona 116XXX. The newer 4131 clone is for the 126500.
4302 cloneMovement
A clone of the Audemars Piguet 4302 calibre for the Royal Oak 15500 and 15510. ZF sells a free-sprung version.
4801Movement
A Chinese chronograph movement in cheaper replica Daytonas.

8800 cloneMovement
The movement in VSF and ORF versions of the Omega Seamaster Diver 300M. Members say the VSF version is not a true Co-Axial movement.

904LMaterials
A steel family. Rolex says its Oystersteel belongs to it. On a replica listing, "904L" is a seller claim, not a test result.

A

AAAQuality
A grade label that some sellers use. It has no common standard. Ask for the factory, the movement name and QC photos instead.
APSFAPS FactoryFactory
Members reported an APSF raid in May 2026, and the guide maintainer began to remove it as a closed factory.
AR coatingAnti-reflective coatingCrystal
A thin coating on the crystal that reduces reflections. Not related to AR Factory.
ARFAR FactoryFactory
First for the Submariner 16610, the GMT-Master II 116710LN and the Explorer II 226570 in the May 2026 guide. Members reported a raid in June 2026, and in August 2026 wrote that ARF was renamed ONE.
Asian 2824 and 2836Movement
Chinese copies of Swiss ETA automatic movements, used in cheaper replicas, for example the GMF Submariner.
AutomaticMovement
A mechanical movement that winds itself with a rotor that turns when you move your wrist.

B

Balance wheelMovement
The wheel that swings back and forth and sets the rate of a mechanical movement.
BezelCase
The ring around the crystal. It can be fixed or turn. Its alignment is a frequent QC check.
BPBP FactoryFactory
Mostly second for Rolex versions with an Asian 2836 movement in the May 2026 guide; first for some vintage models.

C

CaliberMovement
The name or number of a movement, for example the Rolex 3235 or the Patek Philippe 26-330 S C.
Calibre 3235Movement
The Rolex self-winding calibre of the Submariner Date 126610LN and the Datejust 41, with approximately 70 hours of power reserve. Clones are sold as DD3235, VS3235, VR3235, SH3235 and JH3235.
Calibre 4131Movement
The Rolex chronograph calibre of the Daytona 126500LN, with approximately 72 hours of power reserve. Clones are sold as DD4131 and JH4131.
Case-backCase
The back of the case. A display case-back shows the movement, so the movement matters more on such a watch.
CerachromBezel
Rolex's ceramic bezel insert. Rolex describes it as hard, corrosion-resistant and "virtually scratchproof".
ChromalightDial
Rolex's luminescent display, with "long-lasting blue luminescence" according to Rolex.
ChronographComplication
A watch with a stopwatch function, for example the Daytona or the Speedmaster.
Clean FactoryCFFactory
A Rolex leader until 2025. Members reported a raid in July 2025, and the February 2026 guide update removed it. Watches sold as Clean now are leftover stock or Clean Plus.
Clone movementMovement
A replica movement that copies the genuine calibre in look and function, for example a 3235 clone, a 4130 clone or a 324 clone.
CrownCase
The knob on the side of the case that you turn to wind the watch and set the time. Many sports watches have a screw-down crown.
CrystalCrystal
The clear cover over the dial. Luxury watches and good replicas use sapphire crystal.
Customs seizure warrantyBuying
A dealer promise to replace a watch if customs seizes it. The reptime.help glossary says most TDs give one; read the terms of your dealer.
CyclopsCrystal
The magnifying lens over the date window of a Rolex. The reptime.help glossary gives 2.5x for the genuine lens and calls the cyclops a common tell on replicas.

D

DDDandongMovement
A clone movement maker in China and its prefix: DD3235, DD3285, DD4130, DD4131, DD324 and others. A member who services clone movements rates Dandong clones above Shanghai clones.
DDFFactory
First for the Nautilus 5711 and 5811 and the Aquanaut 5167 and 5168 with a 324 clone in the May 2026 guide.
DealerBuying
A seller who gets watches from the factories and sells them to buyers, usually with QC photos before shipping.
DHGate and AliExpressBuying
Chinese marketplaces that sell low-tier replicas without QC photos, according to the reptime.help glossary.
DialDial
The face of the watch that shows the time. Print quality and marker alignment are the main QC points.
DWDate WheelDial
The disc that shows the date. Its alignment and font are common QC points.

F

FactoryManufacturing
In the replica trade, a maker of replica watches, known by a code such as VSF, ZF or 3KF. Buyers order through dealers, not from the factory.
FrankenCommunity
A replica with genuine or aftermarket parts added to bring it closer to the genuine watch. Common upgrades are crystals, bezels and dials (reptime.help glossary).
Free-sprungMovement
A balance that is adjusted at the balance wheel, with no regulator arm. Genuine modern Rolex calibres are free-sprung; most clone movements use a regulator arm.

G

GenGenuineCommunity
Short for genuine: the authentic watch from the brand. Buyers compare QC photos with gen photos.
GLGreen LightBuying
Your approval of the watch in the QC photos, so the dealer can ship it.
GlidelockBracelet
A Rolex extension system in the clasp of the Submariner that allows fine adjustment of the bracelet without tools.
GMFGM FactoryFactory
First for many Rolex versions with an Asian 2836 movement in the May 2026 guide.
GMTGreenwich Mean TimeComplication
A function that shows a second time zone with a 24-hour hand, as on the GMT-Master II.

H

HairspringMovement
The thin coiled spring on the balance wheel. Together they regulate the movement.
HomageQuality
A watch that takes its design from a famous model but does not carry the brand name or logos of that model.

I

IndicesDial
The hour markers on the dial. They can be applied (separate raised parts) or printed.

J

JewelsMovement
Synthetic ruby bearings at the points of friction in a mechanical movement.
JHJingheMovement
The newer free-sprung clone series from Jinghe: JH3235, JH3285, JH4130 and JH4131. An April 2026 teardown rated the JH3235 as good as or better than the Dandong 3235.

L

LumeDial
The luminescent material on the hands and the hour markers. Its color and its application are QC points.

M

Miyota 9015Movement
A Japanese automatic movement that the guide lists for many Patek, AP and IWC replicas, for example the ZF Aquanaut and Royal Oak 15202.
MovementMovement
The mechanism inside the watch that keeps time. Also called the calibre.

N

Noob FactoryFactory
A Rolex leader until it closed after the 2021 raids. Watches have been sold as "Noob V2" and "FNF" (Fake Noob Factory) since 2024; members say the name changed hands.
NWBIGNot Worth Buying In GenCommunity
The top mark in the r/RepTime "Who Makes the Best" guide, where the legend calls it "Best of the best". The reptime.help glossary explains it: the replica is so close that buying the genuine watch is not justified for most people.

O

Oyster braceletBracelet
A Rolex bracelet with three-piece solid links, for example on the Submariner and the Daytona.
OysterlockBracelet
A Rolex folding safety clasp that prevents accidental opening.
OystersteelMaterials
The steel that Rolex uses for its steel cases. Rolex says that it "belongs to the 904L steel family".

P

ParachromMovement
The paramagnetic blue hairspring that Rolex lists in the technical details of current models such as the Submariner Date 126610LN.
Power reserveMovement
How long a fully wound watch runs. On a clone, the power reserve can differ from the genuine calibre.
PPFFactory
A Patek factory, first for the Nautilus 5726 and 5980 and the Cubitus on a Miyota base in the May 2026 guide.
President braceletBracelet
A Rolex bracelet with semi-circular three-piece links, made for the Day-Date.

Q

QCQuality ControlBuying
Photos or a video of your exact watch that the dealer sends before shipping. You approve (GL) or reject (RL) the watch from these photos.
QFFactory
First for the weighted gold, platinum and Le Mans Daytonas with free-sprung clones in the May 2026 guide, and second for the steel Daytonas.
QuartzMovement
A battery movement with a quartz crystal oscillator. A few replica models in the guide use quartz.

R

Regulator armMovement
The arm on the balance cock that adjusts the rate of most clone movements.
RehautDial
The inner ring between the dial and the crystal. On a Rolex it is engraved, and its alignment is a common tell.
RepReplicaCommunity
Short for replica: a copy of a genuine watch, as the reptime.help glossary defines it.
RepGeekReplica Watch GeekCommunity
A major replica watch forum with its own TD list.
ReplicaQuality
A copy of a watch that carries the brand name and design of the genuine model. Different from a homage, which copies a design without the brand name.
RepTimeCommunity
The r/RepTime community on Reddit, the largest replica watch community. It keeps the "Who Makes the Best" guide but has no official TDs.
RichRich FactoryFactory
Sells free-sprung Submariner and GMT-Master II versions with Jinghe (JH) movements. Second for the Submariner 126610 in the May 2026 guide.
RLRed LightBuying
Your rejection of the watch in the QC photos. You ask the dealer for a different unit.
RWGReplica Watch GuideCommunity
A members-only replica watch forum ("RWG: Replica Watch Guide Forum") with its own trusted dealer list. Guests can read limited content.
RWIReplica Watch InfoCommunity
One of the largest and oldest replica watch forums, with strict TD vetting (reptime.help glossary). rwi.us.com is an independent site and is not the forum.

SELSolid End LinkBracelet
The bracelet link that joins the bracelet to the case. A tight fit is a sign of quality.
SHShanghaiMovement
Clone movements from a Shanghai movement factory, such as the SH3235 and the SH3285. Members do not agree if this factory is Jinghe or a different one.
Super cloneQuality
A sales term for a replica with a clone movement. It has no fixed standard, so ask the dealer for the factory, the movement name and QC photos.
Super RepCommunity
The second mark in the r/RepTime "Who Makes the Best" guide. The legend says "Good but not entirely perfect".
Superlative ChronometerSpecs
The Rolex certification: official chronometer certification plus Rolex certification after casing, with a precision of -2/+2 seconds a day.

T

TachymeterBezel
A scale on the bezel of a chronograph that converts elapsed time into speed.
TDTrusted DealerCommunity
A dealer that a major forum (RWI, RepGeek or RWG) has vetted and approved, according to the reptime.help glossary. r/RepTime has no official TDs of its own.
TellsCommunity
Flaws that show a replica is not genuine. The reptime.help glossary says that all replicas have tells.
TimegrapherBuying
A device that measures how many seconds a day a mechanical watch gains or loses. You can ask the dealer for a reading before shipping.
TributeQuality
Another word for homage.
Triplock and TwinlockCase
Rolex screw-down crown systems: Triplock (triple waterproofness) on the Submariner and the Daytona, Twinlock (double) on the Datejust and the Day-Date.

V

VFVictory FactoryFactory
Members reported a VF raid in May 2026, and the guide maintainer began to remove it as a closed factory. In October 2026 a member saw dealers advertise VF watches again.
VRMovement
A hybrid clone series that mixes 31xx and 32xx design, for example the VR3235. A member who services clone movements wrote in 2025 that Jinghe, a movement factory in Shanghai, makes it.
VSMovement
The movement name on VSF watches. A 2025 identification guide lists the DD3235 and the VS3235 together as Dandong movements.
VSFVS FactoryFactory
Named as the best pick in 82 rows of the May 2026 guide, more than any other factory, including the Submariner 126610 and the steel Daytona. Producing, with long waits for some models in 2026.

Who Makes the Best guideCommunity
The r/RepTime spreadsheet that names the best, second and third factory for each model, with the movement. The version that rwi.us.com uses was updated on May 29, 2026.

An international money transfer service. The reptime.help glossary names it as a common payment method at TDs.

Z

ZFZF FactoryFactory
Named as the best pick in 49 rows of the May 2026 guide, led by the free-sprung Royal Oak 15500, most Tudor Black Bay models and the IWC Big Pilot. Many of its Patek models use a Miyota 9015.
