What RWI stands for
Replica Watch Info. It is one of the oldest boards in this community, running since the mid 2000s, and a great deal of what buyers now take for granted started there. The trusted dealer convention, the habit of demanding quality control photographs before dispatch, and most of the factory shorthand people use daily were all argued out on RWI long before they reached Reddit.
The name is also heavily overloaded. Search it and you will get representations and warranties insurance, a phonics programme for primary schools, and a regional airport before you get watches. That is why people add a second word, and why you are probably here.
Is it still active
Yes, with the caveat that the community is no longer in one place. RWI still carries dealer discussion and quality control threads, and a large share of everyday conversation has moved to Reddit and to newer boards. Outages happen. They are nearly always a hosting or mitigation window rather than a closure, so if it will not load try a different network before assuming it has gone.
What people actually open it for
Two things, in our reading of it. Who to buy from, and which workshop builds the model they want. Everything else is conversation around those two questions.
A forum is a poor shape for both. The answer is spread across thousands of posts, the good ones are buried under the recent ones, and a thread from two years ago recommending a factory that has since been raided reads exactly like a thread from last week. Nothing tells you which is which except the date, and most people do not check it.

What a trusted dealer designation is worth
It depends entirely on who is doing the trusting. A community list with published criteria and a moderator who can remove a seller is a real signal, because the designation can be taken away. The same two words printed by a shop about itself are decoration.
The test is simple. Ask where the designation is recorded and who can revoke it. One that nobody can revoke was never a designation.
If the forum will not load
Try mobile data instead of your home connection, since some providers block it. Switch to a public DNS resolver, because these boards change hosts and stale records are the most common cause of a page that will not open. If it is up for other people, the problem is at your end.
