What buyers report on Reddit
September 29, 2026. A buyer who started on DHgate moved to a trusted dealer for a second purchase. One commenter wrote: "the DHgate stuff is a whole different universe of quality." Another added: "a TD will get you a much better quality rep than DH."
September 17, 2026. A buyer ordered a Planet Ocean from a DHgate seller. The seller confirmed the correct reference before shipping and then dispatched a different reference. The buyer asked the community whether to open a platform dispute. The seller initially told the buyer they were "responsible for shipping if I want a refund."
September 10, 2026. A buyer asked whether DHgate was good for $50 to $100 watches. Replies were mixed. One commenter wrote: "It’s hit and miss- mostly miss." Another said: "DHGate can be great if you know where and how to look." Several commenters pointed the buyer to r/ChinaTime. One suggested checking sellers with at least three years of history and thousands of sales.
May 23, 2020. A first-time buyer spent 66 euros on a DHgate watch. They wrote: "I'm quite happy with this piece." A commenter replied: "Its a great way to get into reps, hope to see you buying some bigger reps at some point!"
December 16, 2019. A buyer spent £50 on a DHgate Day-Date. Community comments included: "what you'd expect for 50 quid" and "That bezel is thicker than a bowl of oatmeal".
Before you order
- Use r/ChinaTime as the community resource for DHgate finds. The r/RepTime wiki and community threads direct DHgate buyers there.
- Check that a seller has traded for at least three years and has thousands of completed sales.
- Keep every transaction inside the platform. Moving payment off the platform removes your access to any dispute process.
- Do not expect forum recourse. DHgate sellers are not on the trusted dealer lists of RWI, RepGeek, or RWG.
